There is an old Southern legend that goes back quite a bit. A legend that some refer to as "The Deal At The
Crossroads", or "The Deal With The Devil," or some may know it as "The Delta Legend".
Legend has it, that if you down to the Crossroads at midnight with your guitar, there might just be someone
waiting there for you.
No one knows for sure just what that man looks like, and has sometimes been described as an old black man,
but one thing for sure, is that this man has a heart as cold as ice, and a den as fiery as a burning hearth.
As the legend goes, the man will sit down beside you and tune your instrument. He will then play your
instrument and give it back to you, and when the night is done, you will be able to play that instrument more
graceful than you will ever have imagined.
But this inauguration is actually a pact, or a deal, if you will. A deal with a man that we actually know a little
better than we'd all like to admit.
This man is none other than the Devil, himself, and the deal in which you have generated, has given you such
skills in exchange for your eternal soul.
Some say that this was the fate of the legendary Robert Johnson, himself.
